Pumpkin Carving!

Thursday 10/24 @ 4 PM

THIS THURSDAY! Come participate in an AWESOME tradition of carving pumpkins into Jack-O-Lanterns for Halloween! (What’s a Jack-O-Lantern, you ask? It’s a pumpkin carved into a scary/funny face and lit with a candle inside!)We’ll bring the pumpkins and tools, and you can carve your very own pumpkin!! After we’re done carving, we’ll light candles inside to light up the spooky or funny faces in the pumpkins! And don’t forget to put the finished pumpkins outside your door to haunt people walking by! Lagunitas Brewery Tour!

Friday 10/25 @ 4 PM

Interested in touring a brewery in California? Come on a free tour of the Lagunitas Brewing Company in Petaluma on October 25th at 5pm! We will be meeting at the flag pole at 4pm and carpooling over there! We are looking for people to be designated drivers and gas money will be compt! There will be $3 for everyone else and that covers transportation. After the tour we can hang out and grab dinner at the restaurant and try some beers they make themselves. If you’re not 21 that’s ok! You’re still welcome to join for the tour and dinner. Stop by Salazar 1070 and sign-up by October 22nd!! Hope to see you all there. IEEC Goes to Warriors vs. Trailblazers Game

Saturday, 11/23 from 5:00 – 11:00PM

NO MORE SPACE! On November 23 IEEC is going to see the Bay Area’s own Golden State Warriors take on the Portland Trailblazers! They will watch the Bay Area’s star point guard, Stephen Curry, in a showdown against Oakland’s own Damien Lillard. If you missed out on this event, before sure to watch out for future IEEC sporting and other events! For more information on the Warriors’ Game, join the Facebook event!

STUDY ABROAD & NATIONAL STUDENT EXCHANGE

Study Abroad and NSE Information Meetings are continuing! Join us!

Are you interested in studying away? It’s never to early to start thinking about and preparing for education exchange! Picture yourself in France, Hawaii, Mexico, New York, or Japan! For information on how you can have the best experience of your life, come into International Services to sign up for an Information Meeting! You can also join our Facebook event for more information. Meetings will be every week on Mondays and Tuesdays from 1:00 – 2:00PM, Wednesdays 10:00 – 11:00AM, and Thursdays 11:00AM – 12:00PM. Application Workshops Have Begun!

CSU IP Application Workshops will begin the week of October 14th and run through the middle of December. You must have attended the Information Meeting FIRST to be eligible to attend the Application Workshop. Advanced Sign-Up required. Please call (707) 664-2582 or stop by International Services to sign-up. In general workshops will be held Monday 4:00 – 5:00PM, Tuesday 3:00 – 4:00PM, Wednesday 12:00 – 1:00PM, and on certain Fridays at 12:00 – 1:00PM. Scholarship Opportunity for Students Who Want to Study Abroad to Scandinavia!

The American Scandinavian Foundation (ASF) offers fellowships (up to $23,000) and grants (up to $5,000) to individuals to pursue research or study in one or more Scandinavian country for up to one academic year. This event is for those of you who would like to volunteer to table for IEEC for a total of 4 hours (one hour per week) this Fall semester. The Goethe-Institute is looking to hire a German exchange student for their cross-cultural ambassador program! Are you interested in working, interning, volunteering, or teaching abroad? International Services has hired someone to help you! Come in and visit the WIVA Grad Assistant to find out how you can get abroad. The opportunities are endless and there for you to take! Laser Tag with IEEC!

Come join IEEC play Laser Tag at Escape! 10$ for Escape Laser Tag t-shirt and two games! What is Laser Tag?… Laser tag is a team or individual sport or recreational activity where players attempt to score points by tagging targets, typically with a hand-held infrared-emitting targeting device. Infrared-sensitive targets are commonly worn by each player and are sometimes integrated within the arena in which the game is played. We will also be stopping at In n Out after we finish having a blast at Laser Tag!
