IEEC Goes to Scandia! Deadline to Sign Up is This Week!

November 7th at 5:00PM

Come out and finish off your week with some fun mini-golf and games or rides with your fellow international students at Scandia in Rohnert Park! We will meet at the flagpole and carpool over to Scandia on November 7 at 5:00 p.m. Drivers needed! At Scandia, you can participate in tons of fun events such as miniature golf, video games in the arcade, fun rides, and even BATTING PRACTICE with Marisa Thigpen herself! Please be sure to sign up and pay for this event BY THURSDAY, OCTOBER 31 in Salazar 1070! We hope you come and join us for a fun evening to unwind after a long week of school! Host an Event for International Education Week!

Are you a member of a SSU Clubs, Organizations or Academic Departments? We are excited for our biggest week of the year IEW (International Educational Week) It is a week full of fun events and we hope you can join us and participate as well.  If your club or organization will like to participate by putting on an event during that week we would like you to fill out the 2013 IEW Event Proposal Form where you can provide us with information of your event. PROPOSAL FORM LINK. STUDY ABROAD & NATIONAL STUDENT EXCHANGE

Study Abroad and NSE Information Meetings are continuing! Join us!

Are you interested in studying away? It’s never to early to start thinking about and preparing for education exchange! Picture yourself in France, Hawaii, Mexico, New York, or Japan! For information on how you can have the best experience of your life, come into International Services to sign up for an Information Meeting! You can also join our Facebook event for more information. Meetings will be every week on Mondays and Tuesdays from 1:00 – 2:00PM, Wednesdays 10:00 – 11:00AM, and Thursdays 11:00AM – 12:00PM. Application Workshops Have Begun!

CSU IP Application Workshops will begin the week of October 14th and run through the middle of December. You must have attended the Information Meeting FIRST to be eligible to attend the Application Workshop. Advanced Sign-Up required. Please call (707) 664-2582 or stop by International Services to sign-up. In general workshops will be held Monday 4:00 – 5:00PM, Tuesday 3:00 – 4:00PM, Wednesday 12:00 – 1:00PM, and on certain Fridays at 12:00 – 1:00PM. Scholarship Opportunity for Students Who Want to Study Abroad to Scandinavia!

Deadline to apply is November 1st

The American Scandinavian Foundation (ASF) offers fellowships (up to $23,000) and grants (up to $5,000) to individuals to pursue research or study in one or more Scandinavian country for up to one academic year. Awards are made in all fields of study. Fellowship and grants for advanced study or research in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. Are you interested in working, interning, volunteering, or teaching abroad? International Services has hired someone to help you! Come in and visit the WIVA Grad Assistant to find out how you can get abroad. The opportunities are endless and there for you to take! Work Abroad Through U.S. Department of State Internship Program!

Deadline to apply is November 1st

This unpaid program, for students with a minimum of 60 credit hours or greater, provides the opportunity to work in U.S. Embassies throughout the world, as well as in various bureaus located in Washington, D.C. and at Department offices spread around the United States. This unpaid program is designed to provide substantive experiences in a Foreign Affairs environment. For more information check out our Facebook event!

Laser Tag with IEEC!

Come join IEEC play Laser Tag at Escape! 10$ for Escape Laser Tag t-shirt and two games! What is Laser Tag?… Laser tag is a team or individual sport or recreational activity where players attempt to score points by tagging targets, typically with a hand-held infrared-emitting targeting device. Infrared-sensitive targets are commonly worn by each player and are sometimes integrated within the arena in which the game is played. We will also be stopping at In n Out after we finish having a blast at Laser Tag! To RSVP and find out more information, check out our Facebook event!

IEEC Goes to Warriors vs. Trailblazers Game

Saturday, 11/23 from 5:00 – 11:00PM

NO MORE SPACE! On November 23 IEEC is going to see the Bay Area’s own Golden State Warriors take on the Portland Trailblazers! They will watch the Bay Area’s star point guard, Stephen Curry, in a showdown against Oakland’s own Damien Lillard.
