International Education Week is This Week!

International Education Week (IEW) is a nationally celebrated event for all things international education! Next week is going to be packed with fun events, country panels, information meetings, and more! To stay up to date on all of these exciting events, join the Facebook event! You can also plan a special event for IEW! Are you in a club, organization, or just want to share your culture? You can put on an event too! (See below.)

Study Abroad Scholarship Information Meeting
Are you worried about financing your study away experience? Take action! There are so many opportunities out there for you to get some money so you can study abroad! CSU IP and NSE welcome! This panel is an event for International Education Week 2013. Panel times and Facebook events listed below! Sign up in International Services to attend!
If you are interested in working, teaching, volunteering, or having an internship in another country, then you should come to the Information Meeting that is happening TODAY November 18th at 3:00 p.m. in International Services. STUDY ABROAD & NATIONAL STUDENT EXCHANGE
Study Abroad and NSE Information Meetings are continuing! Join us!
Are you interested in studying away? It’s never to early to start thinking about and preparing for education exchange! Picture yourself in France, Hawaii, Mexico, New York, or Japan! For information on how you can have the best experience of your life, come into International Services to sign up for an Information Meeting! You can also join our Facebook event for more information. Meetings will be every week on Mondays and Tuesdays from 1:00 – 2:00PM, Wednesdays 10:00 – 11:00AM, and Thursdays 11:00AM – 12:00PM. Application Workshops Are Going Strong!
CSU IP Application Workshops will begin the week of October 14th and run through the middle of December. You must have attended the Information Meeting FIRST to be eligible to attend the Application Workshop. Advanced Sign-Up required. Please call (707) 664-2582 or stop by International Services to sign-up. In general workshops will be held Monday 4:00 – 5:00PM, Tuesday 3:00 – 4:00PM, Wednesday 12:00 – 1:00PM, and on certain Fridays at 12:00 – 1:00PM. Do you want to share with other students how amazing your home country is? Next week is International Education Week and we will be hosting special Country Panels and Discussions! Share with students who want to study abroad in your home country what it is like to live and go to school there! Sign-up at the front desk or join the Facebook event to RSVP! WORK, INTERN, VOLUNTEER ABROAD (WIVA)
Are you interested in working, interning, volunteering, or teaching abroad? International Services has hired someone to help you! Come in and visit the WIVA Grad Assistant to find out how you can get abroad. The opportunities are endless and there for you to take! Volunteer Abroad in Africa!
Want to get involved with a volunteer opportunity in Africa this summer? The nonprofit organization One Heart Source is accepting applications on a rolling basis until all positions are filled for programs that are 4-weeks and 6-weeks long. Live abroad with a host family and teach in the local school of the village in which you’ll be living. It is a great way to accumulate international volunteer experience as well as participate in a cause that changes lives of little ones.

Japan Exchange and Teaching Program (JET)
If you are interested in Teaching English overseas when you graduate, check out the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program (JET)! JET has been around for almost 30 years, is supported through the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and is one of the most respected Teaching Programs around. Halloween themed Coffee and Culture Hour

Free coffee, tea, food, and good company! Come and join IEEC for weekly coffee and culture to meet the International, Domestic, and Exchange students! IEEC Coffee and Culture Hour is also a fun way to interact with students that have studied abroad or students that will go abroad and the NSE/International Students. IEEC Goes to Warriors vs. Trailblazers Game
Saturday, 11/23 from 5:00 – 11:00PM
NO MORE SPACE! On November 23 IEEC is going to see the Bay Area’s own Golden State Warriors take on the Portland Trailblazers! They will watch the Bay Area’s star point guard, Stephen Curry, in a showdown against Oakland’s own Damien Lillard.
