Peace Corps Informational Webcast
We are celebrating Peace Corps Week by hosting a live webinar in which Returned Peace Corps Volunteers will talk about their Peace Corps experience: what they loved, what they learned, and how it changed their lives. The webinar will begin at 9:30 and last until 10:30am. Free breakfast will be provided in the Study Abroad office by the Monterey Institute of International Studies www.miis.edu.

Austrian Music and Dance Workshop!
German Club Gemütlichkeit welcomes Professor Gerald Kolm from Austria to Sonoma State University! Break out your Lederhosen and Dirndls and learn about Austria through its music and dance! Experience traditional Austrian culture through yodeling, singing some folk songs, and dancing the Schuhplattler! Everyone is welcome to this fun AND free event! Join IEEC for the 36th Annual Wine Road Barrel Tasting! Come out to taste the newest wines a year before they are bottled! Barrel tasting is a great way to taste unbottled vintage wines and other wines from this year before they are bottled and sold. It is a discounted way to get a preview at the year’s wines, as well as a scenic way to discover the wineries of Sonoma County! JUST $45! This is a GREAT DEAL because not only does it include barrel tasting at tons of wineries all day Saturday AND Sunday, but it also includes carpool/gas money. If you were to buy the tickets NOT through IEEC, it would cost $46 without transportation and gas. Take advantage of this great deal! We have 20 regular attendee tickets available and 4 free tickets for designated drivers. Designated Drivers are FREE and will receive $20 in gas money! NSE Application Workshops Are Happening NOW!
National Student Exchange Application Workshops have begun and will run through the end of February. You must have attended the Information Meeting FIRST to be eligible to attend the Application Workshop. Advanced sign-up required. Please call (707) 664-2582 or stop by International Services to sign-up. Meetings are Mondays 2:00 – 3:00 PM and Wednesdays 1:00 – 2:00 PM. There is a new meeting time on Thursday’s 11:00 – 12:00 AM. CSU IP Deadlines and Late Applications
Still want to go abroad through CSU IP? Want to go in Fall 2014? It’s not too late! There are locations where late/appeal applications are going to be accepted for the Fall 2014 semester. Here are the countries that will have space for Late/Appeal applications due March 15th:

6) Italy (all programs)
8) Spain (Madrid and Granada only)
The Spring 2015 priority deadline for CSU IP Australia and South Africa is April 15th and a final deadline of May 1st. For more information please stop by International Services or call the front desk at (707) 664-2582.
Study Abroad and NSE Informational Meetings
Are you interested in studying away from Sonoma State in the future? Come to an informational meeting to learn everything you need to know! The first step for any program is attending one of our Study Abroad & NSE Information Meetings. We hold information meetings three times each week at various times. You can call the number below or stop by International Services in Salazar 1070 across from Seawolf Services to sign-up. Advanced sign-up is required!

Gilman Scholarship Program Accepting Applications Now! DUE MARCH 4th!
Are you receiving the Pell Grant? Get more scholarship money to help with studying abroad! This scholarship provides awards for U.S. undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding at a two-year or four-year college or university to participate in study and intern abroad programs worldwide. The Gilman Scholarship Program is open to U.S. citizen undergraduate students who are planning to study and intern abroad. The program aims to diversify the kinds of students who study and intern abroad and the countries and regions where they go by supporting undergraduates who might otherwise not participate due to financial constraints. The online application for Summer 2014 and Fall 2014/Academic Year 2014-2015 study and intern abroad programs is now open. The deadline to submit your application is March 4, 2014 by 11:59pm CST. Come in and visit the WIVA Grad Assistant to find out how you can get abroad. The opportunities are endless and there for you to take! Information meetings start on January 28th and run until April 18th. Meetings are Tuesdays 3:30- 4:30 PM and Thursdays 10:00 – 11:00 AM in Salazar 1070.

Coffee and Culture is a weekly event where we get together and share cultures, life experiences and just a place to hang out. We always meet in Salazar 1070. IEEC Mentor Program
Do you want to connect with other SSU students who are as internationally minded as yourself? Would you like to gain a global perspective on your academic area? Do you need to practice your English with a native speaker? Would you like to gain more fluency in another language besides English through conversational exchange? Check out the IEEC Mentor Program! The IEEC Mentor Program this spring 2014 will pair up Alumni with a student who is going through the anxious process of applying and waiting for acceptance letters! Who wouldn’t want a little more help in such an exciting time? As a mentor you would meet with the students and answer any location specific questions they may have, aide in pre-departure meetings and participate in IEEC or SSU activities with them! You may also be paired up with an international or National Student Exchange student to help them get acclimated to life at SSU! Fill out the easy application on Facebook!
IEEC Goes To The Vagina Monologues Show
This is an amazing empowering show where you will learn about diverse
stories of women and you will educate yourself on global perspectives. IEEC will be attending on March 7th at 7pm. We will meet at 6:15pm in front of Salazar. Join the Facebook event so we can know who is going!

IEEC Warriors VS Grizzlies NBA Basketball Game
Join IEEC on March 28th to go see the Bay Area’s own Golden State Warriors take on the resurgent Memphis Grizzlies! Watch the Bay Area’s star point guard, Stephen Curry, lead the Warriors in a showdown against the dominant defense of Marc Gasol and Mike Conley. Bring your Warrior’s jerseys and enjoy two of the most exciting teams in basketball! Its also Local Heroes Night at Oracle Arena, so we each get a commemorative t-shirt in addition to a great show! The tickets are $40 per person (these seats usually go for up to $50!, this also covers reimbursement to drivers for gas and parking. Come down to International Services in Salazar 1070 (across from Seawolf Services) to sign-up and pay!
