So excited that we have already changed our Facebook name to match the new office name: SSU Center for International Education. The URL for our Facebook page has also changed to www.facebook.com/SSUCenterforInternationalEducation.

Did you miss the March 1st deadline to apply to National Student Exchange? Many locations will still accept you! You can still apply to study in one of the 50 states, as well as Puerto Rico, Guam, US Virgin Islands, and Canada! Stop by International Services in Salazar 1070 and/or call the front desk at (707) 664-2582 for more information and to make an appointment with the NSE Coordinator! Business English Roundtable
Are you interested in sharing your experience with international students from the Sonoma State American Language Institute – SSALI?
SSALI students are studying English here at SSU in order to prepare themselves for careers using English, or to enter a graduate or undergraduate program in the U.S. This semester, a small group of students are enrolled in a class called “Topics in Business” where they are learning about the business world and culture.
We would like to organize a networking event where you can share your experience in the School of Business at SSU with these students. If you have any experience working in the business world, we would also love to hear about this too! The event will be very casual, so you do not need to prepare anything. All we ask is that you come ready to talk about your experiences, and why you chose to study at SSU!
Global Scholar Graduation Medallions
Did you study abroad and are graduating this May?
Then be sure to stop by International Services to purchase your Study Abroad Graduation Medallion so you can show it off at Commencement!
IEEC is selling these awesome medallions to raise funds for the annual IEEC Scholarship that is awarded to an SSU student studying abroad. The medallion is only $10 and comes with a light blue ribbon so you can wear it around your neck. All profits go towards the scholarship. (This picture is the medallion you will be receiving!)
If you studied abroad through CSU International Programs, National Student Exchange, or an outside program, be sure to come by the office (Salazar 1070) and purchase your medallion for commencement! For more info, join the Facebook event!
IEEC Mentor Program
Do you want to connect with other SSU students who are as internationally minded as yourself? Would you like to gain a global perspective on your academic area? Do you need to practice your English with a native speaker? Would you like to gain more fluency in another language besides English through conversational exchange? Check out the IEEC Mentor Program! The IEEC Mentor Program this spring 2014 will pair up Alumni with a student who is going through the anxious process of applying and waiting for acceptance letters! Who wouldn’t want a little more help in such an exciting time? As a mentor you would meet with the students and answer any location specific questions they may have, aide in pre-departure meetings and participate in IEEC or SSU activities with them! You may also be paired up with an international or National Student Exchange student to help them get acclimated to life at SSU! Fill out the easy application on Facebook!
