October is finally here! First up: We’re getting really excited for our annual Go Global! Study & Work Abroad Fair this Wednesday, October 5th. Check below in our “Featured” section for more information on the fair and a link to the Facebook event where all the organizations that will be attending the fair are listed. Second up: are you interested in filmmaking, acting or directing? Well, here’s your chance to get your film seen! Get all your questions asked about participating in this awesome event at an info meeting TODAY!
CIE goes to Sonoma Serves!
This past weekend the CIE team had a blast giving back to the Sonoma County community by participating in Sonoma Serves! Our team spent Saturday working alongside the City of Santa Rosa’s Colgan Creek Restoration Project helping clean up the creek and learning about how to maintain it. Everyone dug right in and got their hands dirty in support of the project and in pursuit of keeping Sonoma County beautiful!
Go Global! Study & Work Abroad Fair
Come out to Salazar Quad this Wednesday, October 5th from 10am to 2pm for the Go Global! Study & Work Abroad Fair. If you are interested in studying, working, interning, or volunteering abroad then this is the fair for you! There will be programs tabling that offer all types of programs and opportunities. It’s never too late to get abroad!
International Education Week – Fashion Show
We are still accepting sign ups for the International Fashion Show! The Fashion Show will take place on November 17th from 4pm to 6pm. Do you have cultural significant or traditional clothing? Study Abroad Informational Meetings are Happening Now!
Did you know it’s still not too late to study away Spring 2017?! Interested in studying in another country or another state? Your first step is to come to an Info Meeting! Come sign-up in the Center for International Education for the time that works best for you!

If you are a professor or a student who would like their class to learn more about different study away opportunities, you can request a classroom presentation! All of our Go Global Ambassadors are either study abroad alumni, international students or NSE students and would love to talk about their experiences! Alternative Break – Info Meeting
There are still info meetings available to work on this year’s social issues through Alternative Breaks! This year the social issues you can work with are: Food Justice, Creating Healthier Communities, Working Through Transition, and Survivors, Spaces, and Advocacy. If you are interested in spending your next break on a service-learning trip make your way to the Erin Fisher Room, 2nd Floor Student Center for one of their info meetings. Need a Car?
Sonoma State is now providing Zipcar services to students. This allows students to reserve a vehicle through the app and use the provided vehicles when needed. International students are also qualified to participate in the program. Follow this link for more information and to get started on using this service!
INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION EXCHANGE COUNCIL (IEEC)
It’s that time of year again! Come out with IEEC to celebrate the start of the NCAA practice season for sports teams. Show your Seawolf Spirit and cheer on our own Seawolf Basketball team and the many other sports teams across campus! The tradition of midnight madness oriented from teams holding a public practice at midnight on the earliest date that the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) would allow a practice to be held.

Coffee and Culture Meetings
Join us at our weekly Coffee and Culture Meetings! IEEC holds Coffee and Culture every Thursday from 12 – 1 PM. What is Coffee and Culture you may ask? Coffee and Culture is a weekly event where we get together and share cultures, life experiences and just a place to hang out. We always meet in International Hall 107.
