Have you been stressing about midterms lately? Are you looking for an outlet and possibly a change of scenery? Maybe it’s time to start looking at your options for studying abroad and away! There’s still time to get your applications out for NSE for Spring 2017 and CSU IP and NSE for Fall 2017. Come into International Hall 107 and sign up for an Information Meeting to begin the process for what could be the best time of your life!

Go Global! Study & Work Abroad Fair

Over 15 different organizations came out to promote studying, working, interning, and volunteering away and across the globe! If you missed out, come into our office for some more information on a program fit for you. It’s never to late to travel the world!

Congratulations to the Winners of our Go Global Passport Challenge!

In order to complete the passport challenge, students interested in learning more about studying and working away had to talk to every booth, in order to win prizes and enter a raffle for a free ISIC (International Student Identity Card) card! This card allows students to access many student discounts while on their adventures abroad, and can be applied and purchased for within the Center of International Education at Sonoma State. Our two lucky winners of the Passport Challenge are Breeana Reyes and Sheldon Cornwell! Congratulations! You can redeem your ISIC cards at the Center for International Education.

International Education Week – Fashion Show

We are still accepting sign ups for the International Fashion Show! The Fashion Show will take place on November 17th from 4pm to 6pm. Do you have cultural internationalclothessignificant or traditional clothing? Want to share your pieces and/or model in the fashion show? We are also looking for performers! Application Workshops for CSU IP

Have you already attended an Info meeting and a One-on-One with our advisor Hope? Now its time to get working on those applications! Application Workshops begin this Wednesday, October 12th! Come into International Hall 107 to sign up for a workshop that fits your schedule!

Study Abroad Informational Meetings are Happening Now!

Did you know it’s still not too late to study away Spring 2017?! Interested in studying in another country or another state? Your first step is to come to an Info Meeting! Come sign-up in the Center for International Education for the time that works best for you!

Classroom Presentations

If you are a professor or a student who would like their class to learn more about different study away opportunities, you can request a classroom presentation! All of our Go Global Ambassadors are either study abroad alumni, international students or NSE students and would love to talk about their experiences! Click here to request a presentation and allow at least one week ahead of time before the day of the presentation.

Alternative Break – Info Meeting  

There are still info meetings available to work on this year’s social issues through Alternative Breaks! This year the social issues you can work with are: Food Justice, Creating Healthier Communities, Working Through Transition, and Survivors, Spaces, and Advocacy. If you are interested in spending your next break on a service-learning trip make your way to the Erin Fisher Room, 2nd Floor Student Center for one of their info meetings.  Need a Car?

Sonoma State is now providing Zipcar services to students. This allows students to reserve a vehicle through the app and use the provided vehicles when needed. Midnight Madness

It’s that time of year again! Come out with IEEC to celebrate the start of the NCAA practice season for sports teams.  Show your Seawolf Spirit and cheer on our own sonoma-stateSeawolf Basketball team and the many other sports teams across campus! The tradition of midnight madness oriented from teams holding a public practice at midnight on the earliest date that the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) would allow a practice to be held.

Coffee and Culture Meetings

Join us at our weekly Coffee and Culture Meetings! IEEC holds Coffee and Culture every Thursday from 12 – 1 PM. What is Coffee and Culture you may ask? Coffee and Culture is a weekly event where we get together and share cultures, life experiences and just a place to hang out. We always meet in International Hall 107.
