October came and went, and now the semester is more than half way over! Even though the semester might be slowing down we are still keeping quite busy here in the Center for International Education. International Education Week (IEW)2016 will be held around the world next week November 14th-18th. Campus departments and organizations have planned some great events throughout the week! International Education Week – Fashion Show

STUDY AWAY OPPORTUNITIES
Maximizing Pre-departure Orientation
This is the mandatory Pre-Departure Orientation for all SSU students studying abroad Spring 2017! We will go over important academic, travel, and safety information. CSU International Programs Pre-Departure Orientation will be starting at 10AM on November 13th.
Application Workshops for CSU IP
Have you already attended an Info meeting and a One-on-One with our advisor Hope? Now its time to get working on those applications! Come into International Hall 107 to sign up for a workshop that fits your schedule!
Do you want to experience the culture and history of Ghana? Want to travel to Africa for two weeks? Want to get credit while doing it? This course provides the opportunity for students and participants to actively and personally experience the history and local culture of Ghana in unique ways. Another faculty- led tour for Summer 2017 is to the wonderful city of London! The 12 day trip includes: three performances (two at The Globe and one at the Royal Shakespeare Company), tours of three theatres, a master class at The Globe with professional actors, a walking tour of Shakespeare’s London, a trip to Stratford-upon-Avon, visits to museums, eight hours of classroom time to study monologues chosen to tie into the shows we’ll be attending, preparation for a required paper analyzing the three shows we’ve seen, plus free time in one of the most amazing cities in the world! https://www.facebook.com/events/566571066859378/

If you are a professor or a student who would like their class to learn more about different study away opportunities, you can request a classroom presentation! All of our Go Global Ambassadors are either study abroad alumni, international students or NSE students and would love to talk about their experiences! Need a Car?
Sonoma State is now providing Zipcar services to students. This allows students to reserve a vehicle through the app and use the provided vehicles when needed. Cabin Camping Trip!
Join IEEC from November 18th – 20th as we spend a wonderful weekend in a cabin in the woods! Twain Harte is a small forest town, about an hour north of Yosemite, that is surrounded by many hiking trails, beautiful lakes, and much more. Coffee and Culture Meetings
Join us at our weekly Coffee and Culture Meetings! IEEC holds Coffee and Culture every Thursday from 12 – 1 PM. What is Coffee and Culture you may ask? Coffee and Culture is a weekly event where we get together and share cultures, life experiences and just a place to hang out. We always meet in International Hall 107.
