This week in the Center for International Education…

International Education Week is in full swing and there are still lots of great events to attend! The Center for International Education has collaborated with many departments and organizations across campus to bring you a full week of incredible events. We hope that you will join us and help us spread the word about why international education is so important!

GoGlobal! Fest (12pm-1pm)

The best way to learn about a country is to talk directly with someone who has lived there! Come to the Seawolf Plaza , where study abroad alumni will share personal stories, pictures, and more about their time abroad!

Faculty Lecture Series: Dr. Robert Eyler (1pm – 2pm)

“Five Things You Need to Know About the International Economy for 2017.”

Dean of the School of Extended and International Education (SEIE) and professor in the Economics department, Dr. Robert Eyler explains the effects of Brexit on international education and work opportunities in the U.K. Hear him speak in Schulz 3001


Greetings from France and the U.S. (2pm-3pm)

Meet Justine Mélanie Louise Capet-OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERATolstoï, our Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) from France, as she explores with her French students the differences in greeting and communication between France and the U.S. Join in on the conversation in the PE building, Room 0033.

Info Session: Work Intern Volunteer Abroad (3pm-4pm)

wivaAre you interested in doing an internship abroad, or are you looking for the next step after graduation? Learn more about WIVA and explore the possibilities! Come into International Hall 106 for more information.

International Staff & Faculty Reception (4pm- 6pm)

Wine & appetizer reception in Ballroom B & C to celebrate contributions of
international staff & faculty to Sonoma State. 4-4:30 will be a “Mix & mingle”; then at 4:30 there will be a short program featuring presentations by Ellie Galvez-Hard, Pairis O’coghain & Farid Farahmand.

International Open Mic Night (7pm – 9pm)

The international fun does not stop once the sun goes down! Come enjoy some openmicmusic, poetry, comedy, and more as part of International Education Week. If you have a talent, come and share it! Feel free to just come and enjoy the show as well!
