This week in the Center for International Education…

Now that we’re back from Thanksgiving break and the semester is shortly coming to an end, were trying to make the most of the time we have left of this year! First up: join IEEC for some ice skating fun this Wednesday, November 30th. Second up: this Thursday IEEC is visiting the Christmas lights display in Rohnert Park. If you’ve never been before, it sure is a sight to see!

Though the semester is almost over, its not too late to still apply to go abroad for Fall 2016 and beyond! Come into International Hall 107 and sign up for an info meeting today.

IEEC Goes Ice Skating

peanut5aThis Wednesday, Novemeber 30th IEEC is going ice skating! We will be meeting at the flagpoles at 5:30 PM to go to Redwood Empire Ice Arena! Come join us!

Christmas Light Extravaganza

Join IEEC on our visit to see the Christmas light extravaganza! This house won “The Greatest Christmas Light Fight” and unfortunately will be their last screen-shot-2016-11-28-at-9-44-32-amyear doing this holiday light display, so come see it while you can!
We will be meeting on Thursday, December 1st at the flag poles at 6:00 PM and then heading over to see some pretty cool Christmas lights.

Please sign up for the event in the CIE office (International Hall 107), and let us know if you’d like to be a driver! There is a driver form you will need to fill out and return to the CSLIS office.

Application Workshops for CSU IP

Have you already attended an Info meeting and a One-on-One with our advisor Hope? Now its time to get working on those applications! Come into International Hall 107 to sign up for a workshop that fits your schedule!

Faculty-Led Tours

Do you want to experience the culture and history of Ghana? Want to travel to 14947486_1242390419145175_200242756996102909_nAfrica for two weeks? Want to get credit while doing it? This course provides the opportunity for students and participants to actively and personally experience the history and local culture of Ghana in unique ways. The 12 day trip includes: three performances (two at The Globe and one at the Royal Shakespeare Company), tours of three theatres, a master class at The Globe with professional actors, a walking tour of Shakespeare’s London, a trip to Stratford-upon-Avon, visits to museums, eight hours of classroom time to study monologues chosen to tie into the shows we’ll be attending, preparation for a required paper analyzing the three shows we’ve seen, plus free time in one of the most amazing cities in the world! https://www.facebook.com/events/566571066859378/

Classroom Presentations

If you are a professor or a student who would like their class to learn more about different study away opportunities, you can request a classroom presentation! All of our Go Global Ambassadors are either study abroad alumni, international students or NSE students and would love to talk about their experiences! Click here to request a presentation and allow at least one week ahead of time before the day of the presentation.

 Need a Car?

Sonoma State is now providing Zipcar services to students. This allows students to reserve a vehicle through the app and use the provided vehicles when needed. Coffee and Culture Meetings

Join us at our weekly Coffee and Culture Meetings! IEEC holds Coffee and Culture every Thursday from 12 – 1 PM. What is Coffee and Culture you may ask? Coffee and Culture is a weekly event where we get together and share cultures, life experiences and just a place to hang out. We always meet in International Hall 107.
